Roleplay real situations, out loud
Order at a café, get through a job interview, haggle at a market. Parlo plays the other side and keeps the conversation going for as long as you want it to.
On-device AI speaking partner
Parlo is a conversation partner that lives on your phone — so you can practice speaking a new language out loud, again and again, with no meter running and no microphone pointed at the cloud.
Why on-device
Unlimited isn't a discount. It's where the cost went to zero.
Cloud tutors meter your speaking minutes because every spoken turn costs them money. Parlo runs the model on your phone, so each conversation costs nothing to run — which is exactly why we can let you talk forever, even with no signal at all.
You practice exactly where data dies — planes, subways, abroad without roaming. Parlo runs locally, so airplane mode is a feature, not a failure.
No daily cap, no minute counter, no "you've used your practice for today." Stumble, repeat, and ramble as much as you need to actually get fluent.
Your voice is processed on your device, not streamed to a server. For shy learners, that means you can fumble a sentence without an audience — or a recording — anywhere but your own phone.
What Parlo does
Reading and flashcards are easy to grind. Talking is where most learners freeze. Parlo gives you somewhere safe to do it badly until you do it well.
Order at a café, get through a job interview, haggle at a market. Parlo plays the other side and keeps the conversation going for as long as you want it to.
Parlo answers naturally first, then offers a quick, kind note on what would sound more native — so you keep talking instead of stopping to study.
Parlo listens to how you say a phrase and shows which syllables landed and which need work, with the stress marked. Shipped honestly as beta-grade feedback to practice against, not a clinical score.
One short pronunciation drill every day, free — no subscription needed. A small habit that keeps your mouth used to the sounds.
Speech recognition, the conversation model, and the spoken replies all run on-device. That's what makes Parlo usable on a flight, in a tunnel, or in a country where your data plan gave up — and it's why "unlimited" is something we can actually promise instead of quietly rationing behind the scenes.
How it works
Pick a roleplay — a café, an interview, catching up with a friend — or just freestyle. Set your level and start.
Talk out loud. Parlo understands you on-device, replies in the language you're learning, and reads it back so you hear it too.
A short note shows a more natural way to say it and where your pronunciation slipped — then the conversation rolls on, as long as you want.
Pricing
Because the model runs on your device and costs us nothing per conversation, we can price for unlimited practice — and even offer a lifetime option and mean it.
Your first 3 conversations are free. Keep going for the price of a coffee.
Our launch offer — about $3.33/month. Renews at $49.99/yr, still under half of Speak.
Pay once, keep Parlo forever. No inference cost means there's no recurring charge to hide.
The free daily 2-minute drill stays free on every plan. Prices shown for reference and may change before launch.
Straight answers
Yes. Speech recognition, the conversation model, and the spoken replies all run on your device — there's no cloud round-trip per turn. Switch on airplane mode and Parlo keeps holding a conversation, which is the whole point: you can practice on a flight, in a subway, or abroad with no data.
We're launching iPhone-first with a small set of high-quality languages — starting with Spanish, French, and German — on recent iPhones capable of running the on-device model. We'd rather ship a few languages that feel good than many that don't. More languages and Android support will follow as the on-device models and hardware allow.
We're honest about this: an on-device model is smaller than the giant cloud ones, so Parlo is built as a conversation-fluency partner for speaking volume — not a flawless grammar oracle. It can occasionally make mistakes, especially on fine nuance. Use it to build the confidence and reps that talking demands, and lean on a teacher or reference for the subtle stuff.
If you always have signal and don't mind your voice going to a server, cloud apps are great. Parlo is for the times that aren't that: no connection, no data plan, or simply wanting unlimited, private practice without a meter. Those are the moments most learners actually have time to practice — and the ones cloud economics make expensive.
